In Situ
at Library Square Presented
with Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad and Aeriosa Dance
 In Situ Performance
Times:
10pm
- Wednesday, March 17th 10pm - Thursday, March
18th 8
pm - Friday, March 19th 8pm - Saturday, March
20th In Situ is
inspired by physical expression, engagement with the
environment and societal contrasts - themes that
permeate Vancouver's cultural landscape and shape urban
life on the West Coast.
In Situ takes place at
Vancouver's
Central Library, the serene grandeur of Library
Square setting
the scene for dynamic interaction between dancers,
musicians and Moshe Safdie's striking architectural
design. Artists
from Aeriosa and the Vertical Orchestra work
three-dimensionally, presenting suspended dance and
original spatial music throughout the venue at various
heights.
The
show begins indoors
in the Promenade, flows outdoors to the North Plaza and
ends on the colonnades of the South Plaza. As the
performance unfolds audiences
will be enticed to move through the
building
led by artists and guides who will interact with them
along the way.
In Situ is a 50-minute
performance. If
you require special assistance to help you enjoy this
show please send an email to info@aeriosa.com

Volunteers
Needed
Aeriosa is looking for
outgoing, reliable, friendly people to volunteer for the
performances of In
Situ and for the Afterparty.
As a
volunteer, you play a critical role: you greet audience
members, respond to inquiries, distribute programs and
help with ushering the crowd for a successful, enjoyable
performance for everyone.
If you have a love of
arts, a willingness to be flexibly helpful, and are
willing to donate your time by helping others, you'd be
a great fit. As our audiences are quite diverse, we
welcome anyone with second or third languages, anyone
new to the city, students, seniors - in fact, everyone
is welcome!
So if you're looking for a great way
to get involved in the community and meet new
people, please contact info@aeriosa.com

OUR
MISSION
Vancouver-based Aeriosa
Dance Society was founded by artistic
director/choreographer Julia Taffe in 2001 to manifest
art, performance, 21st century culture, and express
human perception and sensitivity through dance.
The company's artistic objectives include
creating dance in non-traditional environments,
exploring aerial choreography and revealing dance in the
vertical realm to new audiences. The company combines
contemporary dance technique with expert knowledge of
safe rope rigging systems to create three-dimensional
performances that re-interpret gravity and respond to
the performance location.
